Alternative · Post-Punk · Paris
Dark, cinematic rock between East and West — nostalgic, hallucinatory, literary.
New album · 2026
The third Other Lies record carries their raw New Wave roots into more complex, organic territory — airy guitars, rugged bass, acoustic textures and lyrics that trace an inner path through faith, loneliness and desire. First single Teens 4 Today opened the cycle in 2025.

The catalogue
The 2022 concept album — acoustic drums, mixing by Adrien Garbar, mastering by Raph Ing. More complex and organic, inspired by the Greek myth of Actaeon and the boundless nature of human desire.
The 2020 debut — a raw New Wave sound built on a rhythm-box / bass combination and airy guitars, with lyrics exploring the duplicity of human nature and the fear of abandonment.

Other Lies was created in 2017 by Stéphane Debuire — author, composer and guitarist — in the Paris suburbs. The band explores the dark sonorities of alternative rock with introspective lyrics about faith, loneliness, alienation, aging and love.
It blends the energy of movements born from punk (Alternative, New Wave, Post Punk, No Wave), the psychedelic atmospheres of electronic music, and the richness of acoustic instruments (zither, santur). Drawing from diverse influences, Other Lies experiments outside traditional songwriting rules.
The lyrics embrace a cynical yet poetic view of the world — a journey between East and West, nostalgic and hallucinatory, inspired by writers such as Hunter S. Thompson, Pierre Loti and Stefan Zweig.
